Petite Celebrities

December 7, 2014

Today’s petite style crush doesn’t need a big introduction – Miroslava Duma although diminutive at 5ft, she is anything but small.

Miroslava started out as a former special projects editor at Harper’s Bazaar Russia (aged 20), two years later she went freelance and then became an entrepreneur – setting up Buro 24/7, a digital news platform that straddles perfectly between Huffington Post and Refinery 29.

The difference with Buro 24/7 as Duma mentions in a 2013 Vogue interview is: “We don’t write about Kim Kardashian”.

With a ferocious Instagram following of over 1m followers, Miroslava has wielded her strong social influence beyond the fashion world – she’s also a prolific fundraiser for charities and set up her own – Peace Planet in 2005.

Miroslava’s style is bold, intriguing and experimental with plenty of personality-defining accessories – jewelled headdresses, scarves tied babushka style, pom-pom corsages, doubled-up handbags and chunky necklaces.

This powerful lady is a permanent fixture at the prominent fashion shows around the world, at which she is endlessly photographed with good reason – Miroslava has exquisite taste and impeccable style. She’s an inspiration to petite women all around the world in our books.

Interestingly, Miroslava says her height isn’t a factor in getting dressed: “I’m very open-minded and love to experiment.”

We do know however, that she alters most of what she wears, particularly trouser suits!

Scroll down to see some of our favourite looks from her.
